Google Business Profile Management Peterborough

Google Business Profile Management for Peterborough businesses: Setup, audit, optimisation and ongoing posting, so your profile is never left to go quiet again.

Google Business Profile Management Peterborough

An electrician in Netherton once told me his Google Business Profile had been set up by a mate “who’s good with computers” back in 2019 and never touched since. One category, no service list, three photos, all from the same afternoon. It was live, technically. It just wasn’t doing anything for him.

That’s the most common state I find profiles in when I start. Not broken, just neglected.

What a Proper Setup Actually Looks Like

I start with primary category selection, because it’s the single biggest ranking factor on the whole profile. Then every relevant secondary category gets added, the business description gets rewritten to front-load what actually matters, and every service gets listed with its own description instead of one vague paragraph covering everything you do. Attributes like emergency callouts, free estimates and instant quotes get switched on where they apply, because searchers filter on them, and a profile without them can get filtered straight out of a search before a human ever sees it.

Auditing What’s Already There

If you’ve already got a profile, I audit it before changing anything. I want to know what’s working, what’s been left half-finished, and what’s actively working against you: wrong opening hours, an old address, a category that doesn’t match what you actually do, a service area that hasn’t kept up with where you actually cover. Fixing what’s broken comes before adding anything new, because building on top of a wrong foundation just wastes the new work.

Keeping It Active Without You Lifting a Finger

A profile that goes quiet after setup starts losing ground again. I keep yours posting regularly, AI-generated and scheduled so it happens without you thinking about it, alongside geo-tagged photos on a rolling schedule. Google notices an active profile. So do searchers comparing you against the business next door that hasn’t posted since last Christmas.

What This Looks Like Month to Month

Once the initial setup and audit are done, management becomes an ongoing rhythm rather than a one-off project. Posts go out on a schedule, photos get added as jobs are completed, questions that come in through the profile’s Q&A section get answered before they sit unanswered for a fortnight, and the service list gets reviewed as your business changes, a new certification, a new area covered, a service you’ve stopped offering. A profile is never really “finished.” It’s maintained.

Locking It Down

Once the profile is right, I lock it so nobody can make an unauthorised change, and turn on suspension monitoring so I get an alert the second anything looks wrong. More detail on what happens if a profile actually gets suspended is on the suspension recovery page, but the short version is: locking prevents most of the causes before they happen.

Whether you’re a plumber in Bretton or a roofer in Werrington, the principle is the same: a properly built, actively maintained profile beats a profile that was set up once and left alone, every time.
