Getting started

What is the free Local Visibility Report?
It’s a personalised local SEO report I put together based on your answers to a short diagnostic form. It shows where your business currently appears in Google Search and Google Maps, who’s outranking you in your local area, and what the gap is likely costing you in missed jobs each month. It takes about three minutes to complete the form and the report arrives in your inbox shortly after.
Do I have to book a call to get the report?
No. The report is free with no strings attached. At the end of it, I’ll suggest a free 20-minute call if there’s a clear opportunity to improve your local search visibility. You decide whether to book it.
What happens on the call?
I go through the report with you and talk through what needs to change. If it makes sense to work together, I explain exactly what month one looks like and what you’d need to do to get started. If it doesn’t make sense for your business, I’ll say so.
What do I need to get started?
Access to your Google account, your business name, address, phone number, and a list of your main services. That’s it. I handle everything from there.

The service

What exactly does Neon Lobster do?
I manage done-for-you local SEO for UK trades businesses every month: your Google Business Profile, your Google reviews, your website content, and your business listings across 53+ local directories. All of it done for you. You don’t log in anywhere, learn anything, or manage anything. Once a month you get a report showing what moved in your local search rankings and what’s planned next.
What trades do you work with?
Plumbers, heating engineers, electricians, security system installers, solar installers, EV charger installers, builders, roofers, joiners, plasterers, tilers, drain specialists, gas engineers, and most other UK trade businesses. If your customers search Google to find someone like you, local SEO works for you.
Do you cover my area?
I work with tradespeople across the UK. Local SEO is location-specific by definition: everything I do is targeted to your town and the surrounding areas you want to rank in.
What if I already have a Google Business Profile?
Good. I audit it in month one and fix what needs fixing. Most Google Business Profiles I see are missing significant detail: wrong primary category, thin business description, no services listed, no photos, no review system in place. A profile that exists isn’t the same as a profile that ranks in the local pack.
What if I don’t have a Google Business Profile?
I set one up for you in month one as part of the standard service.
What if I already have a website?
I work with your existing site. I write and publish the content it needs to rank in local search: service area pages, category pages, and individual service pages. If your site is too thin or technically broken to work with, I’ll tell you and you can decide whether to use my website build add-on.
What does the website build add-on include?
A clean, fast, mobile-ready website built with the full 30+ page architecture, local business schema markup, click-to-call buttons, and contact forms from day one. Hosting is included. One-time cost of £1,500.
How does the review system work?
Once it’s set up, every completed job triggers an automatic Google review request sent to your customer. When reviews come in, they’re responded to automatically. You don’t need to do anything. More Google reviews, better star rating, stronger local search ranking.
What if I get a bad review?
Bad reviews happen to every trade business. Responding promptly and professionally is the right move, and it’s one of the things Google’s local ranking algorithm looks for. I handle all review responses, but if a review needs a specific response I’ll flag it to you before publishing.
What are citations?
Citations are listings of your business across local directories and platforms beyond Google: Apple Maps, Bing Places, Yell, Yelp, Checkatrade, and 50+ others. Google cross-references these to verify that your business is legitimate. Inconsistent NAP (name, address, phone number) across listings can actively suppress your local search rankings. I build clean, consistent citations across all of them in month one.
What is a local SEO heat map?
A heat map shows how your business ranks across a grid of locations in your service area for a specific search term. Instead of a single overall Google ranking, you see exactly where you’re visible and where you’re not, down to postcode level. It’s how I decide where to focus content each month, and how you track progress over time.
What is the local pack?
The local pack (sometimes called the map pack or 3-pack) is the block of three business listings that appears on Google when someone searches for a local service: “plumber in Manchester”, “electrician near me”, and so on. Appearing in the local pack drives the majority of local search clicks. Getting you into that pack is the core objective of everything I do.

Results and timelines

How long does local SEO take to work?
Month one is the foundation: Google Business Profile, citations, website pages, review system. You may see early movement in local rankings within weeks, but results compound over time. Most clients start seeing meaningful local search movement from month three onwards. I’m honest about this from the start. Local SEO isn’t instant; it’s cumulative.
Can you guarantee I’ll rank in the Google Maps local pack?
No. Anyone who guarantees a specific local ranking is either misleading you or selling something you should walk away from. What I can tell you is what I do, why it works, and what local search results typically look like for clients over six and twelve months. I track everything with heat maps so you can see the movement yourself.
How will I know if it’s working?
Every month you get a local SEO heat map showing exactly where you rank across your service area, alongside Google Business Profile stats (calls, direction requests, website clicks) and a plain-English summary of what moved and why. You’ll be able to see the progress clearly over time.

Working together

What do I need to do month to month?
Very little. Once you’re set up, your main job is to glance at the monthly local SEO report. If something needs a decision or your input, I’ll flag it. Otherwise, everything runs.
Will I need to create content or write anything?
No. I write everything: Google Business Profile posts, website pages, review responses, directory listings. You don’t need to produce any content.
How do I provide access to my Google account?
I’ll walk you through it when you start. It’s a simple permission grant, not sharing your password. You can revoke access at any time.
What happens if I cancel?
You give me 30 days’ notice. I wrap up cleanly. Your Google Business Profile, citations, and website pages stay yours. I never delete work I’ve done for a client when they leave.
